Self-talk
The internal commentary that accompanies most of the day. Its content matters, but its tone is often more revealing — whether it sounds like a fair colleague, an anxious supervisor, or something considerably harsher than either.
A useful test: would you say it, in those words, to someone you respected who had done the same thing? If the answer is clearly no, that gap is worth noticing.
